Gallo Vitucci Klar LLP is proud to announce that Richard Gonzalez, Esq., LLM, Of Counsel in the firm’s Maritime and Admiralty Department, has been designated a Proctor in Admiralty by the Maritime Law Association of the United States (MLA).
The MLA is the nation’s oldest maritime law organization and is widely recognized for its role in promoting the development, consistency, and understanding of admiralty and maritime law. It brings together attorneys, judges, scholars, and professionals across the maritime industry.
The designation of Proctor in Admiralty represents the highest level of membership within the MLA for practicing maritime attorneys. Candidates are typically required to have many years of federal court practice, be nominated by existing Proctors in Admiralty, and successfully complete a peer-review process that evaluates litigation experience, professional achievements, publications, speaking engagements, and overall contributions to the maritime legal community.
Richard is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law and the University of London, where he earned a Master of Laws (LLM) in Maritime Law. He is a retired commissioned officer of the United States Coast Guard, where he served with distinction in afloat operations, marine safety and prevention, and as a Marine Casualty Investigating Officer. Richard is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Puerto Rico, and Minnesota (inactive), as well as the District of Columbia (inactive), the United States Supreme Court, and multiple federal courts.
Gallo Vitucci Klar LLP congratulates Richard Gonzalez on this well-deserved recognition and is proud of his achievement and continued contributions to the field of admiralty and maritime law.
