Meet James
James E. Mercante heads the firm’s Admiralty, Transportation and Marine Insurance practice team. He specializes in commercial and recreational admiralty consultation and litigation, marine insurance coverage, transportation disputes, arbitration and appeals. James is a distinguished retired Captain of the U.S. Navy, and currently serves as the President of the Board of Commissioners of Pilots for the State of New York. He has an AV Preeminent Rating (Super Lawyer designation for Admiralty) and is a seasoned Proctor in Admiralty.
