Meet Charles

Charles Rubin is a highly regarded attorney specializing in complex first-party coverage matters. With expertise in investigations and examinations under oath for issues like property damage, arson, fraud, jewelers block, 9/11, and business interruption claims, he has established landmark law in New York, particularly regarding compliance with policy conditions. 

Notably, Charles represented London Underwriters in a program involving 200+ bodily injury cases in the Virgin Islands and St. Croix. He served as a Residence Partner in London for five years, representing underwriters, brokers, and companies in U.S. litigation and regulatory matters. 

Additionally, Charles was retained by the New York State Governor and Superintendent of Insurance to oversee all aspects of the reinsurance of Lloyd’s of London risks into Equitas. As counsel for the Institute of London Underwriters, he contributes his expertise to NAIC and NCOIL meetings. 

Charles Rubin has also been instrumental in representing major car rental companies in the United States. This representation included appearances before Insurance Departments in every state, multiple testimonies before state legislatures on exemption and limited licensing for rental car companies, and drafting exemption and limited license legislation. Furthermore, he represented these companies on financial security/self-insurance and other regulatory issues before various Insurance Departments and Departments of Motor Vehicles.
